Who we are

Carry the One Math is run by Inside Out Method LLC. You can reach us at hello@carrytheonemath.com.

What we collect

From you, the parent: your email address, and anything you send us through the Reach out form.
About your child: their first name and grade. If you choose, also names of people and pets, a few interests and a note about their world (a team, a club, a school), so word problems can be about their world.
Your child's work: the photos of finished pages you send us, the answers we read from them, and the results and progress we build from those answers.
Payment: when you pay, our payment company handles your card. We never see or store your full card number.
How you found us: the first page of ours you visited, the website that sent you, any tags or referral code on the link, and your answer to "How did you hear about us?" Our site remembers the first few of these in your browser for up to 60 days and sends them with your sign-up. We keep them with your family's record to learn which ways of reaching families work.
Basic technical data: like most websites, our hosting provider keeps short-lived logs, such as IP address and browser type, to keep the site secure and working. Right after you enroll, a cookie brings you back to your child's check-up page.

We don't ask for your child's last name, birthday, photo of their face or address.

How we use it

To build your child's check-up and weekly pages, read their answers and plan what comes next.
To keep in touch by email: the check-up, packets, reminders, results, replies to your messages, and news and updates about Carry the One Math. You can opt out of news and updates any time.
To make the program better, for example by seeing which practice problems are too hard. We look at this across many children, not to single anyone out.

Reading pages and writing word problems with AI. An AI model reads the answers on the page photos you send. It also writes word problems around your child's first name, people and interests. It gets only the photos and those details, never your email address or payment information. The AI provider's business terms don't allow it to use this information to train its models. A page we're unsure about waits for you to check, and you can fix any answer we read for two weeks after it's recorded.

We don't sell or rent your information, and we don't share it with other companies for their marketing. We don't show ads.

Who helps us

A few service providers handle parts of the work for us. Each gets only what it needs to do its job, and may use it only to provide that service to us:

A hosting provider runs the server that holds your family's information, in the United States.
A web network provider delivers the website and connects it securely to that server.
An AI provider supplies the AI model that reads page photos and writes word problems.
An email service sends and receives our email.
Stripe handles payments. We never see your full card number.
Google Ads tells us which of our ads lead to sign-ups. Google's tag runs on our public pages and on the page you see right after enrolling, and it uses cookies to connect an ad click to a sign-up. It never runs on your family's or your child's pages, and we never send Google your email, your child's name or their work. You can turn off personalized ads at adssettings.google.com.

We may also share information if the law requires it, or to protect the safety of a child or anyone else.

Children's privacy

Carry the One Math is for parents and guardians. Children don't sign up, log in or send us anything themselves. A parent gives us what we use, and a parent is at the table when the work is done. Because the program is about children, we keep what we collect as small as we can.

You can see, change or delete your child's information at any time. Email us at hello@carrytheonemath.com and we'll take care of it.

Your private link

Each child has a private page at a link only you receive. Anyone with the link can see that page, so please don't post or share it. If you think someone else has it, email us and we'll change it.

How long we keep it

We keep your child's information while you're enrolled, with one exception: the photos of their pages are deleted 30 days after they're recorded (the answers we read from them stay with their progress). If you cancel, stop a child's pages, or your free month ends without a membership, we keep the rest for 30 days in case you come back, then delete it: any photos left, the answers we read, the pages we made and the progress history. You can ask us to delete it sooner at any time. Our nightly backups roll over within two weeks, so deleted information is gone from them by then too. Stripe keeps payment records as the law requires.

How we protect it

The site uses an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Only the people who run Carry the One Math can see the list of families, and that list is protected by a password. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep your information safe and will tell you promptly if something goes wrong.

Changes

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll email you before the change takes effect.
